I’m Nicole – the German girl with a big love for flavors, stories, and bringing people together around a table.
I grew up in northern Germany, where my mother and grandfather Ludwig turned every meal into an event. That’s where my obsession with food began – and honestly, I never stopped chasing it.
For 35+ years I’ve lived food: running kitchens, building cafés, opening restaurants. From Gourmet Lunch Catering in the Bay Area to the FoodShed Café at the Children’s Discovery Museum, to Ludwig’s German Table and Ludwig’s Biergarten – each project was a mix of chaos, creativity, and a little bit of magic.
Now my focus is plant-based cooking – because food should be bold, fun, and good for the planet. I call myself a part-time vegan: always experimenting, always curious, always hungry for what’s next.
