About me.
My name is Nicole, and I am the German girl behind Nico’s Plant Based Kitchen.
My inspiration and innate joy for food and cooking comes from my childhood growing up in the villages of northern Germany around Hamburg.
My mother and grandfather Ludwig were both excellent cooks and I was blessed with a childhood surrounded by many family gatherings with plenty of delicious food to eat.
It’s been 35 years since I started in the hospitality industry and I’ve never looked back.
I have started my career in the Bay Area with Gourmet Lunch Catering, developed and opened the FoodShed Cafe at the Children’s Discovery Museum in San Jose, opened Ludwigs German Table and Ludwigs Biergarten in Mountain View.
I’m a part-time Vegan and would like to learn, experiment and develop new recipes that show how satisfying and delicious plant-based food can be.
